Coaching Empowerment & Transformation For Creative Entrepreneurs

I’m often asked about the work that I do as a coach, mentor and therapist to creative entrepreneurs so in this post I want to address why I work with this audience and what I offer that’s different from the mainstream.

Let’s start by addressing the term entrepreneur which can be defined as a person who has an idea and works to develop a product or a service that people will buy as well as a business or possibly businesses to support that effort. The entrepreneur will be the one taking on the financial risk in the hope of securing a longer term profit .They will be a visionary and an innovator in their prospective market.

The word has its origins in the French language; derived from “entreprende” denoting a person who undertakes a project.

Whilst the idea of innovation and leadership gives rise to an image of a classic start-up entrepreneur who hires a team and builds out a business, a creative entrepreneur could also be a person who works purely for themselves and is a business owner. As the world of work has changed remarkably over the last twenty years with the acceleration of Internet usage and online services giving rise to the digital age, many of us who fall into this category don’t necessarily need to operate as traditional business start-ups. The key differentiating point for me is the degree of personal risk the creative entrepreneur takes in the pursuit of new business as well as being able to bring about something completely new and unique to their stakeholders.

During the thirteen years I have been running my own business I’ve worked with an array of creative entrepreneurs including skincare natural beauty founder, Cuban born, Tina Hedges of Loli Beauty, award-winning rum creator & blender Toby Tyler ,  Australian recruitment specialist founder, Simon Meyer of Future You and US based Kristin Meek founder and creator of Wyld Leadership and Brooklyn based artist  author and consultant Krysti Keener.

These visionaries along with many others had the insight, the courage and the imagination to take a leap of faith and to back themselves. What has been evident from watching their growth and those of others I have had the privilege to coach and support is their ability to remain committed to their vision and to stay humble and true to their values. They also knew how to invest in themselves and in their personal development. Every fledgling entrepreneur needs a coach/mentor to champion and empower them to believe in themselves and in the cultivation of their dream.

How do I differ from the mainstream coach?

Firstly, I do not like to be defined just as a business coach or a life coach or a therapist or a mentor. Essentially I wear all of these hats and that is really only fully appreciated when you can understand, that for me, the coaching process is not separated between who you are and the work that you do.  As I occupy the transformational change space then my interest is in every facet of your life. We are complex beings with many relationships that impact our lives, for example, a relationship to money, family, friends, work and, most importantly, the relationship to oneself. These are all systems that encompass interdependencies, different facets and dichotomies that throw us off-track.

I offer a blended approach combining coaching, mentoring and a therapeutic response in recognition that we are mind, body and soul and that the soul is the gateway to the spirit. The spirit holds our perfect blueprint of our potential, our remembering of our core nature.

I provide services that educate, transform and enlighten creative entrepreneurs become all of who they were meant to be by getting to the root causes that sabotage authentic success and get in the way of forward progress. I became a coach after creating my own business and taking the entrepreneurial journey myself and thus believe i am well positioned to support others in this area. I offer an alternative perspective to mainstream business coaching and thinking. I teach about the laws of creation so my clients can get into a flow and an ease with their life and their work. I find my clients want to have an integrated life/work way of being because they are looking to define success on their own terms. Learn more about my advice to creative entrepreneurs here.
